“We can learn a lot from a box of crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty, some have weird names and each one is a different color. Yet they all have learned to live in the same box.”
When I was a young manager of people I believed that everyone had to do things my way. I thought that just because they worked ‘for’ me that their ideas were irrelevant. How does that old saying go, “It’s my way or the highway.” Well as I grew older I realized that just maybe I was not as smart as I believed I was and that I had many people around me that were willing to help me out if I just showed that I valued their opinions. Once that happened, we all had a happier life. So remember, just because someone might think a little differently, dress a little different or even speak a little strange, does not make them wrong.
