The north wind freezes fields and rivers
Drifts across roads to seal the town
Skin cracks inside ice covered gloves
Vick’s rubbed onto croupy chests
Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day
Fireplace surrounded by, family, lovers and friends
Ice skating, snowball fights, sleigh rides
Hot chocolate, red noses and hugs
A very apt description of winter.
I loved the last line best.

Thank you for your kind words. If there is one thing Montanans know, it’s winter.

The weather forecast inspired this one. It’s suppose to be a high of 61 tomorrow.

I should think the Midwest will see this in a few days. Problem is, with the cooler temps come more severe thunderstorms.

Thanks Derrick, tomorrow is the second day of July and the high is only suppose to reach 61 F. We Montanans know all about winter.

Thanks for stopping by. I don’t mind the snow so much. I better not I guess considering where I live. I can say that I have seen snow here in Montana every month except August. They just finished getting one of the major roads in Glacier Park opened this last week.

Definitely recalls my childhood in northern New England. My favorite lines are the first two.
