Nike canceled the release of America themed shoes to appease a failed football player that had to become a ‘social activist’ (because no one in the NFL would hire him.) Now don’t get me wrong, I understand the concept of him kneeling during the national anthem. It was his right as an individual and a citizen of the United States to stand or sit as he saw fit. It was his way of protesting against racial injustice that still runs rampant in America. I was in total support of the movement. However, in February of 2019 Colin Kaepernick reached an ‘undisclosed’ settlement with the NFL. Proving that the right amount of cash is all it takes to quench a man’s indignation.
So now he is holding the American flag hostage in yet another one of his attempts to claim his 15 minutes in the spotlight. He says that he, and others, find the ‘Betsy Ross’ flag design offensive. It is a symbol that has a connection to a time when slavery was legal. Well Colin Kaepernick, you want to know what else is connected to a time when slavery was legal in America? The United States Dollar, but for some reason you don’t seem to have a quarrel with that.
Just my two cents worth…
I hope Nike reverses their decision. But they were probably overpriced but would have looked great on the 4th of July!

If I was an activist looking for ways to help stop injustice and not just looking for how much money I could get, I would have suggested a portion of the proceeds be donated to places like NAACP. But that’s just me.
