To All My Wonderful Word Press Friends and Family

I’m heading off for an unexpected holiday to explore this strange new world.

I want to thank you all so much for the support you’ve given me over these past few years. I’ve enjoyed your comments and likes so much. It has been a pleasure interacting with you guys.

But, I find it is time for me to go out and seek some of the answers to those questions that have been plaguing my mind recently. Perhaps the most significant, in a line of many, is, “What the hell am I going to do now?”

The complete failure of this last month to produce anything of substance has at least taught me one thing. I do not possess the talent nor the motivation to maintain a regular blog. I can only attribute this to … I’m lazy or my mind is just too unorganized.

So, although I’m not completely abandoning WordPress, I though it only fair to let all of you know that future postings will be sporadic and even then I can’t guarantee anything of merit.

Thanks again for sharing your cyberspace with me my friends. Happy blogging to all of you and may God Bless your home.

  1. I think you are being too hard on yourself. The fact that you made me and many people laugh this past month and many months before is certainly not a failure; it’s a major success! To spread joy is magickal! Have wonderful time on your holiday! 🙂

  2. You enjoy that break now, Jerry Brotherton, I am sure you and your wife deserve
it. Go and let those answers drift in just like that. Sometimes ( often ) we push
ourselves too hard. Drift with the days for a bit.

I look forward to a refreshed Jerry. Have a good time.

  3. Jerry, you make me sad. Such has happened to me before. Just as I find a blogging soul mate, someone who I am entirely convinced has a true aptitude for producing really worthwhile, even inspiring, material, I find they desert me, claiming their creative muse to have left them. I do sincerely wish for you not to give up completely, but to rest, regather your spirits and allow time to rejuvenate your massive talent for using the powerful phrase, for composing the ‘just right’ tale and turning it to powerful effect. My very best wishes go with you, wherever you choose to go.

  4. Go, listen, adventure on.
    Then come back when
you’re so satiated by the new
stories that they are spilling from you.

And don’t pack any judgement in your suitcase.
    Leave that behind.

    Travel safe!

  5. It has been a pleasure getting to know you, Jerry, even if we started just recently. I hope this holiday has everything to do with an expedited retirement of your wife’s and that you’ll come back soon to share what you’ve seen, what you’ve experienced, what you’ve learned. I’ve enjoyed your jokes (including the dad jokes!), your commentary on life, the universe, and everything, and will miss them. Sporadic or otherwise, I’m looking forward to hearing from you. Happy holidays!

  6. You will be missed greatly, Jerry! You are a wonderful blogger!
I am super busy, and I only have time to post 1 blog-post each week and that time frame works for me.
Maybe you need a break…or to blog less often…give it a rest and see how you feel in the new year. ???
Best wishes always! And thanks for being a friend to so many of us here!
    HUGS, too! 🙂

  7. Blogging is supposed to be fun, and when it begins to feel more like a chore, then taking a break helps. But do remember that there is no need to be so hard on yourself, or to feel as if you have to come up with the perfect post every time. Just write what you want to write, when you want to write it, and you’ll be fine!
